The electrode applied in measuring the PH value is called primary battery; primary battery is a system which function is convert chemical energy into electric energy. The voltage of this battery is called EMF, EMF is made by two half-cell batteries. One of the half-cell is called measuring battery, its electrical potential is related with specific ionic activity. Another half-cell is called reference electrode, it always communicates with measuring solution and connects with measuring meter.
